Featured Stamper on SCS!!

This week the featured stamper is Ked. When you visit SCS check out her awesome gallery and try a few CASES of your own! How do you play, you ask? Well, you find a card you like and you CASE it by changing at least 2 things about that card. On both of mine shown here I changed the colors, stamp set and sentiment.
On the "Hearfelt Thanks" card I Cuttlebugged my BG on vellum with the Textile folder. Love how this came out!!
On the "I Just Love You" card I changed the direction of the card, too.
If you have a moment check out her amazing blog too! I have a link on right hand side, so give it a click and see what she has to offer!
I hope everyone has an amazing Memorial Day and remember to say a prayer of thanks for all the servicemen and women who sacrifice for those to have a taste of freedom!

Queen of the Swaps!!!

I won Queen of the Swaps!! At our monthly team meetings my upline manager has a tradition of voting on all the swaps brought for that meeting and the card with the most votes wins! This is my second win. And what did I win you ask? Well the picture to left shows my prize! The flamingo is the team mascot for our group, Tickled Ink. Inside is a real Red ink cartridge and clear embossing powder. The Queen also is privileged to wear a tiara, pink feather boa and has a flamingo scepter. She also determines when door prizes are drawn. Our team meeting are a blast and we learn new business tips, stamping techniques and share useful ways to run our business.
Here is my card that I created for our swaps. Our theme was "Our Favorite Set" and Looks Like Spring is my favorite! While I do not like cutting out this flower, I do love the look when it's done. I also used two of my favorite colors, which are Cool Caribbean and Certainly Celery. I added a touch of Tempting Turquoise with the ribbon. And while we are supposed to use all SU! products, I just love my scalloped circle punch and couldn't resist.
Well, that's all for now. Will have more very soon I promise!

Been Too Long!!

I have been very remiss in my duties as a blog hostess as of late! One of the downsides to starting a new adventure is getting into the routine of that new adventure! So, I must apologize to anyone who happened by and has not seen anything new. But I do have have some new card samples for you and updates. The first picture you see is my wonderful assistant, my baby girl Molly. She loves to help especially when I'm trying to cut cardstock or put ribbon on my projects!

Over the first weekend of this month I attended a seminar in Holland, MI hosted by Jackie Bolhuis, a Director of SU!. This is an awesome and exciting event which whets my appetite for convention which is in July. There was a Make & Take on Friday evening in which we made 25 cards all using sets out of the Spring Mini. If you haven't seen the Spring Mini yet get your hands on because the new sets are fabulous! I have just a few posted here today and I'll be posting more over the next week.

The first card on the left is created with the Big Blooms set and Happy Everything. A very bright and spring feeling birthday card. We used our gel pen to create the doodling around the Certainly Celery piece.

The card to the right uses Doodle This and the Doodle Alphabet. I changed this slightly from the samples they had to what you see now. On the sample provided they staples on the Regal Rose and Apricot Appeal strips and I didn't care for that. There was also a staple on the tab punch (I love this punch!) and I opted to use my gel pen. That was creativity is all about!

We made a total of 25 cards and I will try to get all 25 posted for you to see. They are some excellent samples for these sets.

I was successful in my quest for a Cuttlebug and I just love using it! This card uses the flower dots embossing folder and the SAB set Delight in Life & Happy Harmony. I really do like the combo of Black and Cool Caribbean together.

I'll be posting more pics of samples made with that also in the coming days.
So here's to wishing you a Happy Spring and Happy Stamping!!

Road Trip to Hobby Lobby!!!

Well I'm off today to Hobby Lobby for some much needed retail shopping therapy!! And since we don't have a Hobby Lobby in the town I live in, I have to go on a road trip. I also have my grandson for the weekend who will be coming with me.

The mission for today is to obtain a Cuttlebug. I finally decided, after seeing all the really cool samples in the SCS gallery, that I NEEDED to have on also! I tried the rolling pin and water misting technique, but I didn't like how the cardstock curled after it was dry. I didn't overly mist the paper, just enough to help loosen the fibers. I did get a really good image using the rolling pin, but you need to apply A LOT of pressure on a firm surface. I'll get a picture of the card I made and post it. Will let you know how the trip goes!

A New Adventure!

Well, here I am jumping on the blog craze! After visiting so many of my virtual stamping friend's blogs I decided, "What the heck? I'll give it a try!" And since I am an SU! demo, I thought what a great way to connect with my customers in a more interactive way near me and those farther away! Sounds like a win-win plan to me!

Seriously though, I just like to talk about rubber stamping and showing what a few stamps, some ink and paper can do to create a beautiful card and keepsake. My hope is any projects I post will give everyone some type of inspiration for creating their own projects! And isn't that what it's really all about?!

I will say right up front that 95% of the products I use to create my projects come from SU! (I am a demo remember!). My objective here is to NOT push my business. That is what my SU! website is for. But hey, if you want to take a gander over there and check it out, by all means help yourself!!

I will strive to post something at least twice a week. And some of the pictures I'll post for your inspiration will be by other designers from swaps I've been in. And if something catches your fancy, leave a comment to let me know.

The card above is using a Sell-A-Bration (SAB) set, Delight in Life. I love this set! And I love using Cool Caribbean and Black together. I also broke out my Shimmery White cardstock to add just a little "bling".

The card below is using Happy Harmony. The sayings in this set are great and make very uplifting cards.

Well enough for tonight. I'll post some more this weekend! I am looking forward to starting this new adventure with you! Visit often, especially when your stamping mojo is on vacation, and hopefully I can help you get it back!
